Family and friends are mourning the passing of 61-year-old Douglas H. Fredlund of Cambridge , MN
He was 61 and died Oct. 25, 2013 at the University of Minnesota Cenrter , Fairview in Minneapolis . Death was attributed to complications from pneumonia.
Most recently he was mid-day personality at KBEK 95.5 FM in Mora, MN..
Back in 1996, Fredlund made medical history. He was kept alive on a left ventricle assist device for six months, awaiting a heart transplant. Seventeen healthy years followed.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 at Cambridge Lutheran Church.
